Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is home-based living, and how is it different from assisted living?

Home-based living means your loved one lives in a private home with a CareHost who provides daily supervision and personal assistance in a small, familiar setting. Unlike assisted living, which often involves many residents and institutional schedules, home-based living is quieter, more personal, and typically more affordable. It’s designed for people who need daily support but do not require skilled nursing care.

2. How do you make sure CareHost homes are safe and trustworthy?

Every CareHost on Sundry completes identity verification, background checks, and a home verification process before being matched with a family. We review home safety, accessibility, and overall fit, and we continue to support placements after move-in. Our role is to vet, match, and coordinate so families don’t have to navigate this alone.

3. What level of care can my loved one receive in a CareHost home?

CareHosts provide daily supervision and baseline personal assistance such as help with meals, bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and reminders. Sundry supports light, moderate, and higher-need non-medical care. We do not provide skilled nursing or medical services, and we help families determine whether home-based living is the right fit before placement.

4. Can Sundry also help with in-home caregivers or other care services?

Yes. In addition to home-based living options, Sundry provides access to independent in-home caregivers for hourly support.
